“In David Bowie’s last performance he is in a tailored suit when Alicia Keyes introduces him and he performs LIFE ON MARS and the way he sings is… just so COOL. It looks like he has seen a lot of life in this video and in this art piece I tried to capture Bowie’s life.”

This piece is a self- portrait inspired by a photograph by Todd Markel from a 2005 Volcom live concert. This piece was inspired by both the original photograph and graffiti art “SK8PUNX” spotted on tour in Europe. The background is created with quotes and lyrics of bands, writers & philosophers that have inspired Jim through the years including THOREAU, RALPH WALDO EMERSON, KEROUC, BLACK FLAG, CIRCLE JERKS, DESCENDENTS, BAD RELIGION & more.
