Milo Aukerman of The Descendents taken at “Mi Casita” in Torrance, CA is from January 14, 1983 by photographer Kevin Salk.  This photograph is in the personal collection of Milo and was a gift from Kevin to Milo and has been scanned and printed for this project…. never seen before!  Each print is signed and numbered by MILO and Kevin and printed on Somerset Velvet 255 GSM paper with deckled edges measuring 16×20″.

Let’s save live music TOGETHER.  Milo states “Music means so much to so many people, but our ability to share it with each other has been seriously challenged in the past year.  And people who make a living by performing music live are especially having a hard time.  But I am optimistic that once this pandemic is under control, live music will come back with a vengeance!  It’s been cool to watch musicians perform Zoom shows, making the best of a difficult time, putting extreme effort into getting their tunes out there.  But nothing beats the intimacy of an actual live performance, so whether we have to mask up, or put up a salad bar sneeze guard in front of the stage, or play in plastic pods, or whatever, let’s make it happen… safely.  This photo (and the obvious intimacy of the setting) makes me yearn for those days where the crowd and performer were completely and ecstatically intermingled… will we ever be at that place again?  I hope so…”
 
We are thrilled to give the proceeds from this project to THE RIOT FEST FOUNDATION to help save live music.   THE RIOT FEST FOUNDATION rallies musicians and fans to awaken passions, amplify dreams, and enhance under-served communities by fostering creative development, supporting charitable organizations, and through civic endeavors.

We achieve this by investing in youth through education, providing grants to charitable organizations, and cultivating music resources and expertise to help execute programs and events in schools, parks, and communities.

Punk Rock & Paintbrushes has been a part of RIOT FEST for the last few years and we love this festival and bringing art and music into one amazing place and WE MISS THIS.  The Descendents have played Riot Fest numerous times over the years!  We are in this together.
