SOMA SNAKEOIL “STAND STILL”

Description

This is one of Soma’s oldest pieces and one that has been ever evolving. It is her favorite, because she’s carried it throughout the US, always changing it, taking things off the canvas and adding something new, always changing the meaning, for the past 20 odd years. The statement “Stand Still & Feel” was something she heard in an AA meeting said by an old timer with a white beard. It has been a personal credo to live by and a struggle. Slowing down & noticing one’s emotional landscape is a big challenge, it is a way to make wiser choices.The piece has a lot to do with sexuality & feminity.
