Hi, my name is Sara Rose, and I like taking photos. My photography journey began on Valentine’s day 2017, when my husband had given me a camera. We were getting ready to leave for tour, and this was going to offer me a creative outlet, while supporting my husband out on the road with his band. I took photos of everything while traveling, but enjoyed taking photos of the band the most. I love live music with my whole heart. I sing in a punk band, and appreciate the interaction between a band and the crowd. It’s beautiful, compelling, vital, high spirited, and true. Taking photos of the band and fans, allows me to capture a glimpse, a taste, of the experience, and share the experience as best as I can. It’s a souvenir, a frozen time piece, and my main focus is to capture the moments of rawness, emotion, community, grit, and heart. Because that’s what music is. I shoot with a Leica Q, and a Sony RX10 for the larger venues, when I need to shoot from a distance. I feel fortunate to have support from my Green Day band family through the beginning of my photography journey, and I’ll never take it for granted. I hope you enjoy the photos that I share.
